For 9 years, at La Xixa Teatre we have been teaching the Training of Intersectional Forum Theater Facilitators with the support of Barcelona City Council and other collaborating entities: the Minhaj Sisters Association, the Interculture Association and the Center for African and Intercultural Studies. It is a way that we have to multiply the tools we use in our projects and interventions with different groups, both locally and internationally .
We work from tools such as:
Methodology of the Theater of the Oppressed
Process Work Methodology
Participatory methodologies
Theoretical and conceptual foundations on interculturality and intersectionality
We carry out this training because we understand that the Forum Theater is a tool of Innovation necessary for social change. It is the theater for Global Justice that humanizes relationships and confronts us with real and concrete challenges to everyday and transcendental conflicts.
We believe that it is important to train in these tools to build community , to give each other the opportunity to build a more just and supportive world.
DIRECTED TO
The training is aimed at professionals, social activists and organizations that work or want to:
to delve into the topic of Interculturality and Intersectionality.
work with people, both in the fields of formal and non-formal education, leisure, health, sports and others, who need to expand their intervention tools, multiply this knowledge and how to become aware of diversity.
learn to facilitate diverse groups of reflection and activism through the tools of Forum Theater and Process Work.
incorporate and replicate innovative tools in their activity.
ON REGISTRATIONS
It is a free training. There are 20 places available. Registration will take place until March 28 and interviews will be held to select the final participants of the group.
Confirmation of selected: April 9
Commitment is requested from the participants. In other words that is:
Completion of the completed training, at least 80% of the hours stipulated in each module of the course.
Completion of compulsory internships with a group within the city of Barcelona
Participation in the final presentation according to the calendar.
The criteria when selecting applicants are:
• Register within the established period.
• A letter of motivation of maximum 1 page will be requested.
• Previous work experience in revitalizing groups, forum theater and intercultural groups will be valued.
